Our Story
Founded in 2025 by my partner, Argjent, and me, Advija, Golden Spoon Cafe is the product of our shared love for food and community. As an Albanian couple from North Macedonia, we bring over a decade of restaurant experience—from working in our family’s restaurants to owning our own establishment, Friendship House, in Merrill, WI. Every aspect of Golden Spoon Cafe reflects our passion for creating a warm and welcoming space where friends and families can come together over delicious meals.
Growing up, we were cherished by our grandmothers, who taught us the values of love, care, and the joy of sharing a meal. In Macedonian culture, there’s a heartfelt saying: “I hope one day you reach to eat with a golden spoon.” Our grandmothers often spoke these words as a blessing, inspiring us as we pursued our dream of opening a restaurant. When choosing a name, we wanted to honor their memory and fulfill their wish. That’s how Golden Spoon Cafe was born—a symbol of family, tradition, and the joy of gathering around the table.
Our logo, featuring two spoons coming together, represents us as a couple, while the flower shape pays tribute to our grandmothers. Today, not only do we eat with a golden spoon, but so does everyone who comes to our restaurant.
At Golden Spoon Cafe, we take pride in offering a diverse menu that caters to every taste. Enjoy our all-day breakfast, featuring farm-fresh eggs, homemade hollandaise sauce for our Benedicts, gluten-free hash browns, fresh vegetables, and fluffy pancakes. We also offer a variety of gluten-free options. For lunch, savor our hearty half-pound burgers, wraps, melt sandwiches, club sandwiches, fresh salads, fettuccine Alfredo, stir fry, liver and onions—you name it, we have it—all made with high-quality ingredients.
With seating for over 100 guests, our cafe is perfect for family gatherings, casual lunches, or a quiet coffee break. We also offer a private party room for intimate gatherings of 20-30 people.
